My name is Sze Yen, but some people call me Zyen. If that’s too confusing, you can address me as Ms Hoo.

No, this is not my full-time job. These three fields – website design, videography, and photography – are passions of mine which I have decided to take up as freelancing jobs.

I have always been interested in website design eversince personal websites were available to the public – way before the age of bloggers. I loved experimenting with code and colours, and I would always unleash them onto my unsuspecting friends. Some results were disastrous, some results were met with warm reception, but everything I learnt was through trial and error and from listening to feedback.

I do not believe in a one-template-fits-all concept; I always modify and customize layouts or even given templates to suit my clients’ needs. I also provide PHP and MySQL programming where necessary.

As for videography, it was something I picked up for fun but I found that I was naturally good at. I usually take and edit videos of live events.

Photography is a skill which I have recently picked up. I have always loved taking photos (not the camwhoring stuff, mind you), but when I found out videography was not as challenging as I thought it would be, I decided to turn my hand to SLR photography. I will not honestly call myself a pro yet, but I am getting there!
